I use Garlic every time I cook. Throw a few cloves in this baby, roll it on my palm and voila, the garlic is chopped evenly and I just dump it into my marinara or whatever I’m making. I am not great at chopping garlic and I don’t really enjoy the old fashioned garlic press. This is exactly perfect. My last one did break, so they don’t last forever. It’s a bit tough to get every little piece of garlic out. And watch out for the sharp blades. But I use this almost every day and love it!
I bought a garlic press and the holes were too small. All it did was mash the garlic. In desperation I bought this thinking that at least it would amuse me. It is wonderful. It chops the garlic perfectly. If you want it course, just roll it a little, if you want it finer, just keep rolling a little more. It is easy to use and clean. Wish I had this years ago.
After going through 5 garlic mincers in 4 years, raging from $5 and upwards of $20…. this a lifesaver.. It arrived less then a week ago and I have already ready used it 3 times… works perfectly… easy to clean… obviously I haven’t owned it for very long but so far it is by far my favorite way to mince garlic… everyone is getting one in their stockings at Christmas….lol
I LOVE garlic, but I hate mincing it. I saw a demo of this product, and was impressed at how well it seemed to work, but honestly, I was still really skeptical. But, I figured, what the heck — give it a try. After using it a few times, I wouldn’t be without it now.
I have the green, extra-large edition. This is something I bought on a whim on Amazon Prime day, thinking it wouldn’t really work, but I honestly love it. It chops garlic perfectly without completely mincing it. I put 3-4 garlic cloves in and wheel away. The garlic can offer a bit of resistance at first when you’re trying to wheel the device, but just go back and forth and push through it. It states you can roll the device less for a courser chop or more for a finer mince, which is only true to a certain extent. The garlic does tend to stick to the walls of the chamber, which limits how much of a true mince you can accomplish. However, it works perfectly for my needs. I also love that it’s top-rack dishwasher safe.
This is the best kitchen gadget I have ever owned!! I received one as a gift and then I bought 3 more for my kids and our beach house. Buy the X-Large – I bought the small based on the dimensions but when I received it – the dimensions included the packaging – dumb to show it that way but I re-ordered the correct one.
This is just the handiest little rig. It can be a bit hard to get it started. Only put one clove in when you use it the first few times so you get a feel for how it works. Be sure to push down firmly on the counter for teh first few “passes” so you don’t strip the gears. A friend stripped both hers and mine. 🙁 I replaced mine and it runs flawlessly. It is much better than a garlic press since you use every bit of the garlic, it is faster (no digging at the more fibrous part of the garlic) and easier to clean up. Remember to mince your garlic 8-10 minutes before heating it in teh pan. The chemical reaction that occurs when you crush or mince garlic and adds to it’s health benefits stops when heated.
Very easy to use & easy to clean. It chops Garlic without any difficulties. You feel like you are playing when you chop the garlic. The size is enough which you can chopped about 4 pieces of garlics. I advise you to have it in your kitchen. it keeps your hands clean.
I normally like to keep it simple, especially in the kitchen. Save space and save clutter. But I love the Garlic Zoom. It is so fast and easy to use and does a fantastic job of mincing garlic. It is easy to clean (I just swish it around in my sink of hot soapy water, rinse and let it air dry). But if one prefers, it can be put into the dishwasher. As a sideline, it is actually FUN to use. I bought them as stocking stuffers for my difficult to buy for family members. Definitely a five star item.
I love this thing. I know it looks like an As-Seen-On-TV kind of gimmick; but it works so well! I never thought we would use more garlic in our house, but this lil’ thing makes chopping cloves a cinch. I’ve never had the problems of starting or rolling like others report. It might get clogged but a quick smack on the counter frees things up. I can see where that would be a problem if you overloaded it though. I use 2-3 cloves at a time and I do slice them in half first. I start with 2 or 3 halves, give it a few back and forths, and then add the rest.
